The talent of young artists at St. Aidan’s High School in Derrylin is now on show for all to see after they opened their impressive outdoor Art Exhibition last week.

The exhibition sees the pupils’ work displayed at the gates of the school with their creative excellence reflecting an important theme to the school, the environment and sustainability.

St. Aidan’s has partnered with Encirc over the last couple of years on all matters biodiversity and sustainability and this is the latest initiative in that important relationship.

Fiacre O’Donnell said: “This is another brilliant collection of work by the pupils of St. Aidan’s, their talent and creativity is exceptional.

“What’s more the messaging about the environment and what we need to do to tackle climate change is also so important. Indeed, the school is doing great work in this area, and we are delighted to be partnering with them to help change attitudes on the need to protect the environment. I would recommend to anyone to come down and look at these brilliant paintings.”

The outdoor gallery shows a selection of native animals, insects, plants and flowers, landscapes, seascapes at sunset and farm vehicles.

The children were praised for their outstanding use of colour, texture, pattern and general appreciation of our local environment through the mediums of pencil, paint and pastel.

St. Aidan’s extended thanks to Encirc, which is part of the Vidrala Group,  for their continued support.
