Encirc has donated almost £5,000 to a charity located near to their Elton plant in Cheshire that makes a real difference to families in need of support.

Last year, Encirc, a Vidrala Group company, raised money for the Cheshire Community Foundation, a highly successful venture that raised an extra £5,000 above target and it was decided to give this surplus money to another local worthy cause.

To this end, KidsBank, who recently opened their newest centre in Ellesmere Port, was selected.

KidsBank is a registered charity who support families in need. They collect new and pre-loved items for babies and children – equipment, clothes, toys, and toiletries, and distribute them to struggling families across Cheshire and Flintshire.

The people they give a helping hand to have been impacted by domestic abuse, homelessness, job loss, the cost-of-living crisis and much more.

27 per cent of their referrals come from Ellesmere Port.

Encirc’s donation allowed KidsBank to pay their rent and buy some lovely bags to package up the clothing parcels in.

This week, two Encirc staff members, Eleanor Murray and Becky Dilworth, were on hand to present the cheque to Kidsbank and they also enjoyed a rewarding day with the charity, processing uniforms in time for their summer term collections. They went through referral forms from local families to ensure they got all the uniforms they needed which were then collected by drivers and delivered to the grateful recipients.

Becky Dilworth, Stakeholder Engagement Manager at Encirc said: “It’s been fantastic to meet KidsBank and help support them with our donation. We spent a day volunteering with the uniform referrals team, and it was amazing to see the direct impact of our donation, as well as the hard work the team put in. There are so many families needing support and it really is our honour to contribute in some way.”

The charity says 31 per cent of children in the UK are living in poverty and KidsBank has already gifted well over 150,000 items to families in need.
