Encirc rolls out Read&Write software to support employees and families
As part of its ongoing commitment to building a workplace that embraces neurodiversity and supports every individual to thrive, Encirc has introduced the Read&Write software for all employees and extended access to their families at home.
Read&Write is a literacy support tool designed to make every day digital tasks easier. It helps with reading text aloud, understanding unfamiliar words, researching information, and proofing written work. While it offers powerful benefits for colleagues with neurodivergent needs, the software is designed to support everyone, making communication, learning, and productivity more accessible.
Features include:
Text-to-speech which turns long documents into audio files in multiple accents (e.g. Irish, Welsh, Polish)
Dictation allows users to speak, and the software writes for them
Proofing tools which include spellcheck, grammar support, and auto-correction for users whether English is their first language or not
Screen masking which reduces screen glare to ease individual strain.
Rob Coates, account manager at Encirc and a user of Read&Write said: “The software offers something for everyone, but it’s particularly effective for certain people. It simplifies everyday tasks, making it a valuable tool both in the workplace and at home. By streamlining routine processes, it allows users to focus on their areas of expertise which is a clear positive.”
The software is available for all Encirc company laptops and computers, and families of employees can also download it for use at home. To help colleagues get the most from the tool, Encirc will provide access to an online academy with guides, videos, and training resources and regular updates and handy hints to showcase practical uses of the software. There will also be a team of 10 trained ‘champions’ across Encirc’s three sites who will support individuals and teams in exploring how Read&Write can best meet their needs.
Part of a bigger commitment
The rollout of Read&Write is part of Encirc’s wider focus on inclusion and neurodiversity. Through its Neurodiversity Committee, the company has committed to raising awareness, providing resources, influencing policies, and embedding tools that make work more accessible.
By giving employees and their families access to supportive technology like Read&Write, Encirc, part of the Vidrlala Group, is taking meaningful action to reduce barriers, improve communication, and empower everyone to be the best version of themselves at work and beyond.
