‘Outstanding’ night for Encirc at prestigious NI business awards

Glass manufacturer Encirc has emerged as a standout winner at the 2025 Belfast Telegraph Business Awards, securing both the Large Business of the Year and the prestigious Outstanding Business of the Year titles.
Encirc was honoured for its “continuous innovation, agility, and adaptability”. The judges also commended Encirc for its “strong employee engagement, impressive sustainability efforts, and clear business objectives, success metrics, and proof points”.
The prestigious ceremony, held at the Crowne Plaza in Belfast, welcomed over 500 distinguished guests from across Northern Ireland’s business community, including Economy Minister Caoimhe Archibald. The awards, now in their 25th year, were hosted by BBC journalist Mark Simpson and recognised excellence across 19 categories.
Encirc, which employs more than 2,000 people across its three sites in Derrylin, Cheshire, and Bristol, was celebrated for its exceptional growth, innovation, and contribution to the regional economy. Its Fermanagh facility alone supports over 500 jobs, highlighting its vital role in local industry.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work, innovation, and dedication of our entire team,” said Encirc Managing Director, Sean Murphy.
He added: “We are delighted to receive this award. We’ve placed a huge focus on investing in our people, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and creating a great place to work for all our employees. I believe this has been crucial to our development over the past few years.
“This is a well-deserved recognition of our people and the values that drive us forward every day.”
Looking to the future, Sean revealed: “Today, we’re still heavy users of fossil fuels but we want to change that. By exploring alternatives such as hydrogen and biomethane, we see a clear future for glass. We believe it’s the most sustainable packaging medium in the world and decarbonisation will make it the number one packaging of choice long into the future.”
