Vidrala achievements

Press Release
December 2017

Vidrala has been supporting Encirc’s continued investment and development over the years, with some great achievements in 2017/18.

A wave of investment from Vidrala allowed us to expand to an Italian site, located in Corsico, Milan. This site became officially part of the Encirc business at the beginning of 2018. This show of confidence from our parent company is a fantastic asset to our business.

The plant in Corsico is undergoing significant refurbishment, with the furnaces being completely demolished and replaced with brand new sustainable ones. One of the 300 tonne furnaces has now been built and is successfully up-and-running. The other furnace is set to be built in September 2018. The latest, most up-to-date NIS machines are also being installed alongside the furnaces.

Last year, our award-winning Academy became the Vidrala Academy. Adopting the Vidrala name reflects the Academy’s global presence, and gives it access to a greater depth of expertise and knowledge with other Vidrala businesses.

Vidrala also acquired Santos Barosa Vidros in 2017, the Portuguese glass manufacturer. This is a great achievement for Vidrala, gaining a company which has long been admired by the board of directors and management.

We are looking forward to what 2018 will bring.
