Finalists in The Manufacturer Awards 2014
The Manufacturer has shortlisted Encirc in three categories for its prestigious annual awards. The first two, Supply Chain Excellence and Sustainable Manufacturing, celebrate its achievements in logistics and sustainability whilst the third, Young Manufacturer of the Year, acknowledges the personal success of Barry Smyth, electrical supervisor in Elton.
The competition has a wide area of appeal and attracts entries from a large range of sub sectors of manufacturing such as – Food and drink, Engineering, Automotive, defence contractors, speciality steel, aerospace, beauty products, medical technology.
Companies can enter a number of different awards and, after the initial submission and if shortlisted, are then invited to present their submissions to a judging panel
Commenting on the awards Robert Rose, Encirc Operations Director said “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for all three awards and we are especially pleased that Barry has made the final list of entries for the Young Manufacturer. He started in the glass plant some years ago as an apprentice and has worked through to Electrical Supervisor. He is a mentor for the apprentices we now have in our business and leads by example, constantly seeking to improve the working environment, creating and developing new processes and he likes nothing more than being presented with a challenge!”
The supply chain excellence award focuses on the company’s ability to offer customers the full package – glass container manufacturing, contract packing, bonded storage and logistics including consolidated loads. The environmental savings this generates compliments the wonderful story the company can tell about its Sustainable Manufacturing ethos – from reduced packaging weight, to unmatched production capabilities, from bulk wine filling to rail links onto site.
The winning entries will be announced at a special ceremony in Birmingham on the 27th November.
