A Wonderful Night at the British Bottlers Institute Dinner

Article
November 2012

The British Bottlers Institute (BBI) annual gala dinner was held at the beginning of the month and a group of us headed to London for the evening – as usual, it was a highly enjoyable event.

Jennifer Elliott, Peter Fitzgerald and I travelled down to The Vintners Hall in the City of London to attend the awards ceremony and mingle with a few of our clients, which were up for awards on the night. SHS Group triumphed in the Ciders category, while a whole host of Encirc Glass customers – including Shepherd Neame, Gleeson Group and Fever Tree – also picked up gongs.

As well as witnessing Peter Horsfall of Halewood International scoop the BBI Achievement Award, we were also treated to addresses from Wyllie Woodburn of Highland Spring and Ed Binstead, president of the BBI. Comedian Mike Pugh had us chuckling away throughout the night too.

After such a fantastic evening, we’re now looking forward to attending the World Bulk Wine Exhibition next week, which will see thousands of producers, buyers (and us!) arrive in Amsterdam for two days of tastings, meetings, conferences and seminars. We’ll be blogging about the exhibition very soon, so stay tuned.
